Boat Ride To Spain

We started in Ancora and walked to Caminha and crossed to A Guarda on a very small boat.  The walked to Caminha was along the ocean but pretty boring.  We had nice views but nothing special for the walk.  There was a small chapel just outside Ancora where we got our passport stamped and the older man showed us the details of the alter.  It had a Camino shell and the date was 1652.

We hiked along the shore which was very flat and then we went in a tunnel under the train tracks and into a village for our first cafe stop.  We Met people from Chico which is where Dianne lived for 30 years.  They taught at Chico State for 25 years:  it was fun to walk about Almador and Paradise and Drakesbad.

The highlight was a boat ride across the Minho river which separates Portugal and Spain.  The ride took less than 10 minutes and was alot of fun.  We arrived in Spain at a quiet dock with nothing happening.  We marched out and up the hill that led to A Guarda which is in Spain.  It was a nice track thru the forest and done into A Guarda.  The hotel is fairly new with nice rooms.  Our dinner was down on the waterfront and it was another wonderful meal.  We walked back uphill to our hotel and are getting ready for sleepy time.
