Long Walk To Vigo

We walked from Nigran to Vigo today.  It was a long walk totaling about 16 miles.  Some of it was on wonderful trails in the hills above the Spanish shores. We could look out at the towns and the ocean below us.  It was berry beautiful.

We started out on city streets as we walked cross country to find the Camino trail.  We missed a signpost and walked a mile out of our way before we found the right route.  Then we walked about 5 miles of roads before heading into the hills.  The hill trails were pretty and cool and surrounded by forests.  We can down into small villages then headed back up again before finally coming down into the outskirts of Vigo:

We ate lunch into hills sitting on a round stone which was used to grind grain driven by a waterwheel.  We had a beautiful dog come out of nowhere and he grabbed a small cupcake out of my hand before running off with two ladies.  Hopefully the dog is OK because the cupcake had chocolate in it.

We can down into Vigo and walked in a lovely park that wound thru the city of Vigo.  We came out a the end and marched the rest of the city to find our hotel.  We are in the old city near the harbor.  Or hotel room has walls of ancient stone and the corner of the room used to be a fireplace.

We had another wonderful dinner at a restaurant recommended by the hotel.  Jack and fish and Dianne had steak and both were wonderful.  We finished the meal with two glasses of port and laughed about the wonderful day we had.
